Safety is our number one priority at Shaffer Building Services. All new employees receive fall protection, Hazcom, OSHA 10 hour and general workplace safety training before the start of their employment.

All employees who operate forklifts are factory trained and certified. Current employees receive annual safety training in areas such as nail gun safety, scaffolding, rigging, signalmen and various other topics.

At the beginning of each week, we have a company safety meeting where we discuss ways that we can improve safety. We also do weekly toolbox talks on various safety subjects that affect our industry.

We have participated in the New York state Labor departments on site safety consultation program, are members of the Lovell safety group through the Syracuse Business Exchange.

Before the start of every project, our company safety director will perform an on site analysis of the job site. At that time, any safety concerns are identified and/or eliminated. Our safety director will also complete follow up visits throughout the duration of the project to ensure that each project is being completed safely.
